A Personalized News App that Works!

I always love technology that works for me. When it comes to reading the news, I haven’t found a better personalized news app than Zite (iPhone/iPad and Droid). The longer you use it the more tailored to your preferences it becomes. Zite explains it best on their site:

Zite evaluates millions of new stories every day, looking at the type of article, its key attributes and how it is shared across the web. Zite uses this information to match stories to your personal interests and then delivers them automatically to your iPad or iPhone.

How Zite Works

I have been using Zite for over a year and it has become very “intelligent” of my likes and dislikes. With every article I pull up, I can mark it thumbs up or thumbs down to further influence its choice of news for me. It also supports sharing content to Email, Text (SMS), Evernote, Twitter, Email, Instapaper, Google+, LinkedIn, and Pocket (formerly Read It Later). Some people use Flipboard, but Zite works differently than Flipboard. Here is a helpful post that explains the difference between the two.

Here is a brief video of how Zite works using an iPad:

So, if you are tired of scanning news items that aren’t relevant for you or worn out of managing RSS feeds in Google Reader….then download Zite and give it a try. I think you will like it.

  1. You convinced me to try it out, I love flipboard but thinking this could be more targeted. Thanks David
