Description: HootSuite.com is the ultimate social media dashboard. It gives you an aggregated view of your Twitter and Facebook accounts, RSS feeds, and Twitter Searches. It also has integration points with Ping.fm and WordPress.

Ministry Application: HootSuite is a great tool for monitoring what is being said about your church. I created a ‘stream’ in HootSuite that returns any mention of our church or our church’s twitter account. It is amazing how many first time visitors have announced their plans to visit the day before or the morning of Sunday worship. We have found HootSuite to be a great tool to monitor and proactively engage visitors before they even hit the door. We also created a Twitter list of church staff so others can follow (which is also posted on our staff intranet), which we also monitor using HootSuite. This tool also gives church staff the ability to share the responsibility of contributing and responding to various conversations without sharing the passwords to each account (which helps with coordinating your church’s presence in social media).
