Description: YouVersion.com is a free web and mobile app for the Bible. It is much more than just an digital Bible. It is the same concept as YouTube, but instead of video, it’s the Bible. With YouVersion, there are community contributions of commentary and insights, Bible reading plans, and personal note taking. It offers 41 different translations in 22 languages.

Ministry Application: I have already begun teaching from my iPad using YouVersion’s mobile app (and they pretty much have an app for every platform). Using Bookmarks, I can jump around very quickly and even project corresponding PowerPoint slides using Apple’s VGA Adapter and the Mighty Meeting app. They have also introduced YouVersion Live for those churches providing live online worship and teaching opportunities. This is full of features and if nothing else, makes the Bible all the more available on mobile devices.
