Alternative POS Solution to Bookstore Manager?

For years we have used Bookstore Manager as our Point of Sale solution, but we simply don’t like it. Our Bookstore employees like it (though don’t love it), but from a support stand point, it is awful. We would like to find an alternative solution, but here are the key features that Bookstore Manager offers that makes for finding an alternative solution difficult:

  • Electronic Ordering directly within the POS solution from Anchor, Appalachian, Spring Arbor, New Day, Central South, Moody, Chordant, and Provident Distributors.
  • Nielsen SoundScan Reporting
  • Internet Stock Check
  • Fortunately the Christian Books and More database is available for import into a website or other POS solution so this is a big plus.

    Does anyone know of any solutions available that comes close if not equitable in providing these features? We found one possible solution by Compass Technologies that integrates with Great Plains, but we still have a few unknowns yet to resolve to ensure 100% retention of features for our Bookstore staff.
